Quinta dos Carvalhais, Dão Tinto Reserva 2017

Named for the majestic oak trees which line this prestigious Dão estate, Quinta dos Carvalhais is one of the region's most respected producers of authentically Portuguese wines. Dão Tinto Reserva 2017 is a heady blend of indigenous Portuguese grapes - 65% Touriga Nacional, 20% Alfrocheiro Preto, and 15% Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo). It's deep ruby in colour with intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry and bramble. The palate has swathes of black fruit flavours along with subtle hints of menthol, violet and wet earth. All this combines with polished tannins, a bright freshness and long, elegant finish.
